August 19 – Tran’s Update – Siem Reap, Cambodia

Hello everyone thanks for praying for the Tran’s and the ministry in Cambodia.

• Our sweet Diem passed the FBI test and will be going into Grade 4 at FBI in the fall!
• 4 men came to the “Cell Group” this past week, one of the men was Quyen’s dad!! The Cell Group is growing.
• Bill Lobbezoo okayed the request for funds to be given towards fixing the court yard (the pavers were sinking), fixing the bathroom(s), and replacing the washing machine.  The repairs started this week!!
• Here is a  list of the children who are/could possibly attending FBI this fall:  Thi, Ha, Nhung, Pha, Nhi, Nhat, Quyen, Bao, Diem, Hoang
• Lieu and Den are very eager to learn and Hong has noticed a real hunger in them to study.
• Nguyen is teaching Key Board to Thi, Nhung and Ha. When Timothy leaves they will start playing on Sunday with Nguyen.

• The FBI students Report card;  Thi had the best grade, Ha, Pha and Nhi have average grade and Nhung just passed.  Pray that all the students would desire to learn and see the privilige they have to go to school.
• Hong has offered all of them extra tutoring at FBI, which cost $15.  Also Changroen is helping them with their Khmer.  The students struggle with Khmer and Math.
• Hong, when school starts, will meet regularly with their teachers so she knows how to best help the students.
• Bao, Quyen and Hoang are receiving tutoring to improve on their math and will re write the Math test.   Pray they will all pass and be able to attend FBI.
• Hong found out that Tuan and Mot can re-write their Math (because they failed grade 4) at the Government School.  She is now working with them to improve their math.  Pray they will learn Math and that they will pass so they can go to grade 5.  If they work hard this year she will have them apply for FBI next year.
• Hong’s challenge is Tuan, Mot and Hoa.  Pray the Spirit gives her patience and wisdom in knowing how to motivate and teach them.
• Hong spoke to WEC school to see if they would accept some of our children if we gave them $50 per child (typically the Vietnamese children don’t pay to attend WEC). WEC is struggling financially.  Pray that WEC school accept Den, Tein, Hoa and Binh.
• Timothy will be leaving Cambodia August 23.  Pray: for his safety in traveling alone.  Adjusting to living in Brampton and going to a new High School for his final year.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort the children, they will be sad when Timothy leaves.  He has been a good friend and big brother to the children.
• Pray Colossians 1: 9-14 over Hong and Nguyen- They need wisdom in dealing with the children and daily need to be strengthened and encouraged.
