Sunday is always an amazing day – one that I look forward to every week. It is a day that the Lord is worshipped and we get to hear from His Word. It is no different here in Cambodia! I had the honour to be able to preach at the Phsa Leu Church, a Cambodian C&MA Church here in Siem Reap. It was such a blessing to me to see not only Kim & our team but many of the youth, our translators, and youth workers in attendance. We also had the surprising opportunity to call all of us up to the platform to sing the english worship song – Every Day – that we have been teaching the children all week. After the service we met with the pastor and brought gifts from Canada and gave a financial offering for their important work both in Siem Reap but also in the country of Laos.
After Church we went back to Kim’s to prepare for Children’s Church where ‘Teacher Daniel’ taught on what it means to be the temple of God’s Spirit. After the lesson we played some games with the kids and serve them a snack and daily vitamin. We also handed out baptism certificated to those who were baptized and to pray for them again. But wait, the day is not over yet… After the children’s service we held a youth service that has sword drills (remember those?!), singing praises and reciting Scripture from memory. Daniel also gave his testimony for the youth service and the kids really responded. We all laid hands & prayed for Daniel that God would continue to use him as he is heading into School this fall for youth ministry.
As you can read – Sunday is a busy day here, but it is a great day to see God praised and at work here in Siem Reap. Thank you for your continued prayers – keep them coming
Blessings from the Team, Scott
