Today was an amazing day because I had the privilege & honour to baptize 5 people and anoint and pray for healing for two others this morning! As Kathie mentioned yesterday, we originally were going to do this at a local lake but because it is so dry here, there wasn’t enough water in the lake so we took all the kids and rented some time at a local hotel’s pool. It was amazing to see these 4 kids and one young adult take a step of faith and obedience, share their testimony and get baptized, not only in front of their friends, but also in front of the other hotel guests who were very interested in what we were doing. I also had the opportunity to anoint and pray for God’s healing on two young men. They took the step of faith to follow the Scriptures direction in James 5 to be prayed over and anointed with oil in the name of the Lord.
Because the Cambodian New Year celebrations are winding down, the traffic was very heavy with people leaving town so we didn’t want to take two trips to get everyone to the pool so I think we set a new world record of people in a Toyota Helix truck – over 30! When you can get 5 or more on a scooter – maybe 30+ in a truck is not that big of a deal.
I will be preaching at the Phsa Leu Cambodian Church tomorrow morning through a translator so please pray that God would speak through me, then the translator to get His message to His children.
Blessings from the team, Scott
