Wednesday Night
September-June
(Follows school calendar)
7-9pm
@Summit Community Church
At The EDGE, we work hard to blend faith, friendships, and fun together into one incredible night. Our main focus is that students know that they belong, are put in an environment where they are able to experience God at work, grow in their faith and friendships, and go share in Jesus’ mission to reach the world. We believe that all of these are best accomplished through small groups, which is why we plug each and every student in an age and gender appropriate group the moment they arrive!
What to expect:
Our nights begin in the youth room with a time to hangout and connect, followed by games and activities which are sometimes indoor, and other times outside (we do our best to let you know ahead of time through our newsletter!). We’ll play a variety of games, of different skill levels and styles. After the games we go into the Youth Room for the lesson, which is immediately followed by small group time. The small groups are focussed on building relationships while debriefing the lesson, and talking about how to apply the lesson to our lives.
Within the first five minutes:
- As soon are you arrive you will be welcomed by a team of fellow youth and leaders.
- Our host leader will ask you to fill out a registration form, to let us know a bit about who you are and to sign you in for the night.
- You will be connected with a trusted volunteer or friend who will be a part of your small group
- Go and enjoy fun games and activities and get ready for a night of connection, learning, and small group.
Sunday Morning
Year-round, runs every week except the first Sunday of the month
Beginning at 10am
@Richmond Green Secondary School
As students move up and mature, we cant to make sure they continue to transition to the “main service”, which is where The EDGE comes in. The EDGE starts in the “main service” with worship and prayer, and stays right up until the message. Just before the message, The EDGE students get dismissed to their classrooms where they will be able to engage with a lesson that is geared towards their age level.
Then once a month, on the first Sunday of every month, our students in The EDGE remain in the main service for the entire service. During this service they will both engage with the sermon preached that week, but our students will also be able to part-take in communion, which we do on the first Sunday of every month as well.
We believe that this structure will help students begin their transition to being a part of the main church service.
What to expect:
After we are dismissed from the main service, we head over to our classroom where we engage in the lesson, creative learning activities, and small group discussion. If we happen to be finished before the service is over, we head to the gym and continue to play games until the main service is finished
Within the first five minutes:
- As soon are you arrive to the school you can head to the Kids and Youth Info Centre.
- Our host leader will ask you to fill out a registration form, to let us know a bit about who you are and to sign you in for the morning.
- After you are registered, you will get a name-tag that helps us identify who you are and which program you belong to.
- Go and enjoy fun games and activities in the gym and get ready for a morning of games, learning, and small group.
